In May 2010, she joined the Catholic Church of Shanghai in Shanghai as a volunteer teacher and worked there till May 2011.
She attended the American School of Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in 2011. Mia Mamede became Miss Dubai in 2012.
She attended New York University in New York City, New York, the United States, in 2014, earning her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and socioeconomics in 2019.
During her time at the university, she served as a volunteer and a fundraiser for the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, which is based in Wilmington, Delaware, USA.
