A well-known journalist Chris Mortensen passed away. This was confirmed by his family members on Sunday morning. Chris Mortensen has reported on the NFL for ESPN for nearly three decades. He has won many awards in his reporting journey.

Chris joined ESPN in 1991 and regularly reported on a show called SportsCenter. Gradually he became a regular news breaker for ESPN. 2016 became a memorable moment for him when he was awarded the Pro Football Writers of America’s Dick McCann Award (PFWADMA). In the same year, he was also honored with the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s enshrinement ceremony.
Chris announced his retirement after the NFL draft in 2023 so that he could focus on his health and family.
Peyton Manning said on his Instagram post that he lost a true legend forever. Chris was the best in the business and I cherish my friendship with him.
This was around 1980 when Chris also worked for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution during his lifetime.
Chris Mortensen was born and raised in Torrance, California, U.S. He completed his studies at his local college El Camino College. He has a small family which includes his wife and his son.
