Eavis and his second wife Jean visited the music festival The Bath Festival of Blues in 1969. There he was inspired by the performance of an English Rock Band Led Zeppelin. In 1970, Eavis then hosted the Blues Festival and the Pilton Pop Folk.
In 1981, a festival known as Glastonbury Festival was organized by a local farm and site owner, Michael Eavis. Eavis continued the festival with his wife Jean until she died in 1999.
